Attendance Allowance appeal
If mandatory reconsideration does not change the decision, you can appeal to an independent tribunal. This page explains the appeal process for Attendance Allowance.
We explain the system. We do not advise on individual cases.
Appealing an Attendance Allowance decision
If a mandatory reconsideration does not change a decision, you can appeal to an independent tribunal (HM Courts & Tribunals Service). The tribunal considers the decision afresh.
The time limit
You normally have one month from the date on the mandatory reconsideration notice to appeal. Check the exact deadline on your notice and on GOV.UK.
How it works
You submit the appeal explaining why you disagree, and can choose a paper or oral hearing. This website explains the process in general and cannot prepare or check an individual appeal.
