Accessibility statement
How accessible this website is, what we have checked, and how to tell us about any problems.
We explain the system. We do not advise on individual cases.
About this statement
This statement applies to pipanddlahelp.co.uk, run by PIP & DLA Help. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website, including disabled people, carers and older readers.
What we have checked and done
We have reviewed the website and taken the following steps:
- Plain English throughout, written with brain fog, fatigue, anxiety and cognitive difficulties in mind.
- Short sections and clear headings so pages can be scanned.
- One main heading per page and a logical heading order, so screen readers can navigate.
- Descriptive link text (no bare web addresses or “click here”).
- Data tables that use proper table headers.
- A “skip to content” link on every page.
- The site language is set to English (United Kingdom).
What we are still working on
We are working towards the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. Some things have not yet been independently tested, including:
- Colour contrast on every element.
- Full keyboard-only navigation and visible focus on every control.
- Behaviour with screen readers and at high zoom levels.
The website has not yet had a full independent accessibility audit, so some parts may not meet every criterion. We are continuing to improve it.
If something is not accessible
If you find any part of this website difficult to use, please tell us through our contact page. Let us know the page and what the problem was, and we will do our best to help and to fix it.
