Attendance Allowance and mobility
Attendance Allowance does not include a mobility component. This page explains how mobility-related needs are treated and what other support may be available.
We explain the system. We do not advise on individual cases.
Attendance Allowance and mobility
An important point to understand: Attendance Allowance does not have a mobility component. Unlike PIP and DLA, it only helps with the costs of personal care and supervision, not with getting around.
What this means
If you are over State Pension age and need help getting around, Attendance Allowance will not pay for that specifically. However, getting Attendance Allowance can sometimes help you qualify for other support, and a Blue Badge is assessed separately.
Other help with getting around
A Blue Badge is assessed under its own rules and is not tied to Attendance Allowance. Check with your local council about Blue Badge eligibility.
